Investing in Yourself

Have you ever found it hard to invest in yourself? I know I have. And I see it so often in the women I coach.
It’s like we’re willing to invest in everyone else—our kids, our partners, our jobs—but when it comes to us, we hesitate. We wonder if we’re being selfish. We ask, “Do I really need this? Will it be worth it?” Sometimes we even feel guilty for putting ourselves first.
And let’s not even get into women’s reluctancy to spend money on themselves. Time and time again I meet women who desperately want to grow but cannot bring themselves to invest money into themselves. They’ll happily spend money the other people in their lives but not themselves.
But here’s the thing I’m learning: Investing in yourself is not selfish—it’s essential.
Now more than ever, we need to stay sharp. With all the talk about AI and technology changing the way we work, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But instead of backing away from it, what if we leaned in? What if we said, “I’m ready to learn. I’m ready to grow. I’m going to stay current, even if it feels uncomfortable at first.”
I’ve been taking small steps to invest in my growth. I’m exploring new ideas, reading up on AI, and talking to people who are using it in smart ways. I’ve joined writing groups and am getting a new certification. It’s not always easy—I still have moments of doubt—but I know it’s necessary.
When we invest in ourselves, we’re saying, “I believe I’m worth it.” We’re saying, “My growth matters, and I’m ready to embrace the changes coming my way.”
The best part? Growth and development don’t just help us professionally. They make us stronger, more confident, and more resilient in every area of life. When we keep learning and stretching ourselves, we build new habits of courage and curiosity. We start to see possibilities where we once saw limits.
So here’s my challenge to you (and to me):
Say yes to that course, workshop, or coaching program you’ve been thinking about.
Set aside time each week to read, learn, or try something new.
Remind yourself that investing in yourself isn’t a luxury—it’s an investment in your future.
The world is changing fast. Let’s stay curious. Let’s keep growing. And most of all, let’s believe we are worth the investment.
I’ll be right here, cheering you on. And I have many ways to help you invest in yourself....reach out and we will get started together! www.thesinhagroup.net
